Vitint Safe & White Whitening Gel is a non-peroxide teeth whitening kit that has been developed by dentists for home use. The performance of Safe & White Whitening Gel is based on the unique and patented Ardox-X technology with active oxygen. Safe & White was one of the first teeth whitening home kits to carry the British Dental Health Foundation Approved seal.
How Does Safe & White Work?
Almost all teeth whitening kits rely on an active oxygen reaction to penetrate the surface of the tooth and release stains to give whiter teeth. For many, including dentists, hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide was the most effective but due to a change in EU regulations these products can now only be supplied by a dentist.
A popular alternative to peroxide is Sodium Bicarbonate but Safe & White is different. They have developed a Hydro-Carbon-Oxo-Borate complex, a patented invention of a Dutch dentist.
When the whitening gel comes in to contact with moisture (saliva), the active oxygen is released and it penetrates the dentine to start the tooth whitening process. Unlike peroxide, its a non-radical form, or anionic oxygen which is released. This has a whitening effect but without the negative side effects such as damage to enamel and gum irritation.
How to use Safe & White
The Safe & White Kit comes with 2 mouth trays that should be coated with a thin layer of whitening gel. Place one of these trays in to place over the teeth for 30 minutes, twice a day.
Visible results should be possible within one week of treatments and even more so after two weeks. Extensive research has proven that it is safe for the tooth enamel and gums and can therefore also be used if you have gum problems, without any risks.
The mouth trays are a comon feature to teeth whitening kits and are fairly easy to use. For further details, try our guide to using teeth whitening trays with step by step instructions.
Safe & White Kit Contents
The Safe & White Tooth whitening kit contains 100ml of gel and two mouth trays. This should be enough gel for two weeks of treatments.
You can also track your progress with the tooth whitening guide included by simply checking the colour of your teeth before and after each treatment.

Safe & White Verdict
While Safe & White will never whiten teeth as effectively and quickly as a peroxide based teeth whitening kit like Dr Georges Dental White, it will provide a gentle whitening after a few days of regular treatments.
In one study it was shown that Safe & White gel performed better than 5.8% hydrogen peroxide or 18% carbamide peroxide. If that’s true then it really is impressive results from a non-peroxide gel and puts it in the same league as Dr Georges Dental White.
In reality Safe & White is probably more comparable to other non-peroxide teeth whitening kits like Botanical White or Zero Peroxide.
